Small leather-bound volume from a 17th-century multi-volume set, retaining its original hand-press printing on laid paper with visible historical wear and character. DESCRIPTION A small and evocative 17th-century French edition of Don Quixote , printed in Paris in 1694 by the noted bookseller and publisher Claude Barbin. This volume represents Tome V from a larger multi-volume set of Cervantes’ celebrated work. Bound in worn contemporary leather with raised bands to the spine, the book shows the honest patina and handling expected of a volume more than three centuries old. The binding displays age-related rubbing, surface wear, and darkened leather tones consistent with early utilitarian bindings of the period. The text is printed on laid paper using a hand press , and the interior shows the natural toning and irregularities typical of early European paper production.
