Offered is an original 18th-century French copperplate engraving, titled Le Coucher, depicting a refined Rococo interior genre scene associated with the traditional paired subjects Le Lever and Le Coucher. The print is etched and finished with the burin, as credited in the lower margin: “Gravé à l’eau-forte par Duflos et terminé au burin par Bause.” This impression is period hand-colored, with subtle watercolor washes applied after printing. A clear plate mark is visible along the lower edge, confirming this as a true copperplate engraving rather than a later reproduction.
