Description

This is an original Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) showing the aftermath of the 1910 sinking of the steam schooner S.S. Czarina at the mouth of Coos Bay, Oregon. Caption reads: “Sinking of Czarina – Copyrighted 1910 by F.M. Frintiss, Marshfield, Ore.” Frintiss was a well-known early Oregon photographer whose regional disaster and harbor images are scarce and highly collected. This postcard is guaranteed original and period-printed. AZO stamp box on reverse matches 1907–1918. Condition: Light wear and age spots as shown. No writing on back. Strong contrast, sharp image, and excellent survivor for a 115-year-old real photo postcard. A great piece of Oregon maritime history
