Copyright 1932; this is the fourth edition, 1932; the first edition was printed in 1914.This is a text designed to be used in agricultural colleges and for agricultural classes in high schools. There are many illustrations, including the color frontispiece, that accompany the text. DESCRIPTION: 335 pages 8 1/2 x 5 7/8 inches hardcover CONDITION: This hard-cover book is in good+ condition. There is no dustjacket—I don’t think it was issued with one. The tan cloth hardcover is fairly clean, but shows light wear at the corners and spine ends. There are inked names and dates on the front pastedown. Some of the pages are underlined in red ink and have black in notations in the margins. This is not extensive. The paper shows mild age toning. The hinges and binding are excellent with no loose or missing pages. From the Preface: …Notwithstanding the keen competition between the horse and the motor in some fields, this horse business in general is on a sound basis and bids fair to continue so, as far as can be foreseen. But to successfully compete requires most careful attention to detail. Economic efficiency is the standard by which comparisons are made.
