1999 Vanuatu 1 vatu Shell animal wildlife coin Diameter 17mm. Obverse The arms of Vanuatu featuring a Melanesian warrior standing in front of a curved boar's tooth above a scroll reading "LONG GOD YUMI STANAP" and the date above. Reverse Charonia tritonis, or Triton, very large shell that predates upon sea stars, particularly the invading Acanthaster, locally responsible for the destruction of corals. Here holed as it was used as trumpet.
