Description

Stunning 19th century gold top hollow brooch with a very relief 3D geometric design. It has a raised cube with weave pattern on all sides in the center. There are sculpted scallops and bead shapes around the sides. Measures 2-1/8" wide x 1-1/2" high and has a profile of 1/2". The back is goldfilled and all original with hinge at long pin shaft and curly C hook pin clasp. Although this brooch is a good size and looks substantial, it only weighs 5.21 grams because it is very thin and hollow. The top is excellent, no damage or problems. The back side has some small scratches and looks slightly pushed in, you can see the age although nothing that is significant, and this pin is entirely original nearly 200 years old with no repairs. A fine addition to any collection, and still extremely wearable.
