Pulitzer Prize winning author Alfred Bertram 'AB' Guthrie "The Way West" novel Inscribed Autographed Hardcover RARE First Edition 1949. This novel is classified as Western Historical Fiction. It's the sequel to "The BIg Sky" and won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Guthrie also won an Academy Award for his screenplay of the 1950s western "Shane". This classic novel brings to life the adventures of the western passage along the Oregon Trail in 1846. This book is in good condition for its age. There are no ripped pages or writing except for the autograph and inscription "For Lee Burnett with best wishes from 'Bud' AB Guthrie. Bread Loaf, VT Aug 27, 1955". There is no dust cover. Binding is tight. Pages are clean and unmarked but show coloring from age. The page edges also show browning from age. The front cover has no book title on the first edition and the rear has a worn spot. There is some corner bending. See photos of actual product. Ships from the US.
