Gilbert American Flyer HO Cast Locomotive: 31005 4-6-4 Hudson New York Central with smoke and choo-choo. Gilbert HO Index shows this was cataloged 1957-1962. Engine is missing a number of screws from the tender and one wire is loose. One front marker is broken off. Traction tires are bad. I tested it and got it to run but there is a bind in it somewhere that locks it up. Gently manually turning the motor frees it up but it may run just a bit or for a few minutes before it binds again. My guess is might be related to the chug piston but I'd have to take it apart to really evaluate it. This is a DC engine with open frame motor that requires the tender for pickup. While DCC conversion is possible it will require remotoring. I priced this based on past listings, if it doesn't sell I am going to use it for parts to fix a Wabash version I have that has locked up axles.
