Richard Baxter's The Saints Everlasting Rest. Plain leather covers with gilt lining and title on the spine. 1841 inscription on two names to the third page which has oxidized over time. I find it brings some great character to the book. Published by the American Tract Society, New York. This book is in good condition considering its age and is bound tightly with all pages being secure. You could read this book without worry of damage. Covers having expected wear around the edges with the spine beginning to show creasing lines from use. The front cover begins to flare upward as you reach the edge, likely due to a heavier object being placed on top of it for some time. Signature bleeds through to the title page and you can still see faint remnants on the contents page. Binding likely having been repaired at some point after publication. Pages all having scattered foxing. Overall this is a wonderful book with a lot of character to add to any collection. It looks good on a shelf and feels good in the hands.
