Antique Victorian Staffordshire figure depicting a medieval crusader knight in scale armor carrying a shield with raised rosette decoration. The figure stands beside a column and wears a conical helmet with a cloak draped over one shoulder, typical of romantic medieval subjects produced in the Staffordshire Potteries during the mid-19th century. This large example stands approximately 13 inches tall, making it a larger and more impressive Staffordshire mantel figure than the more common smaller examples. The figure retains its original hand-painted decoration and glaze. The armor shows detailed scale patterning and the shield displays a raised rosette motif. The back shows the draped cloak extending down toward the base.
