Description
The discovery of King Tut's tomb in Egypt during 1922 inspired ancient Egyptian style design in architecture, furniture, fashion, art and other elements of popular culture right into the mid 1930's. This bronze statue dates from that period. The statue is daintily set on a pyramid-shape, also of bronze, and that base is, in turn, resting on a polished stone plinth. The statue has a green patina which is common in bronze items as they age. There are no indications of a brand or artist's name to be seen on the piece. Total height, including the base is 10 1/2 in. or 26.7 cm. Total weight is 2 lbs 8 oz or 1 kg 150g.
