Such a beautiful find in early 19th century chintz. A border type fragment once part of a larger piece which had significant damage. But the border floral survived. About 1820/1830. ***I am portioning this out in lengths that have 3 roses in total. So aprox 5” wide by 21”-22” long. My photos show the various long strips I will be cutting from. You’ll notice some variance in condition but as a whole, fairly similar. Know that this textile is not perfect & offered as is. The browns have various degrees of deterioration, popping & wear & some good fabric too & are intact & stable. The paler brown on the back has fared fairly well overall in comparison to the darker brown. The floral chintz area is still strong for it’s age. It will have some variance in how the dye colors settled over time which is part of it’s beautiful character & history. So the coral tone could be a bit deeper or slightly paler for example. There will be some age related patina & stains but the colors do a good job of hiding most & honestly the nuance is charming as these are very early. A beautiful piece of earlier chintz textile history. Wonderful as a collector piece, framing, small historical projects & textile art, study etc.. Again dimensions are 5” by aprox 21”-22”. (Which will have 3 roses) I can keep up to “3” uncut, so up to 5” wide by 63” can be sent in one long length. Many thanks! Before it has arrived I can tell this is going to be a treasured piece purchased from a lovely ebay seller. I am sometimes wary of buying overseas but the communication from Pia has been superb. If the cloth is half as good as I suspect it is from this meticulous seller, I will be thrilled. Can recommend purchasing, particularly for those of us in other countries.
