Description
Antique high quality 32 mm ladies pin set Pocket watch with chain. The high quality movement has a lever escapement and split balance (it's temperature compensated) with 16 jewels. The dial side of the movement is signed "Pontenet" - note that the same serial number is on the case and the movement. The watch runs well and has good power reserve in the dial up and dial down positions, but stops when in the pendant up position - it will need some attention. Note that the dial is presentable, but has some cracks and edge chips. The crown has a spot where the plating has chipped off (see pictures). The case, with movement, crystal, pin, chain, and bow removed, weighs about 8.6 grams. There are no hallmarks (there is a maker's mark on the pendant- see picture) - but the case has a specific gravity between 10.29 and 11.4 (with bow, crystal, stem/crown, movement and pin removed)- and the inner dust cover is pliable. The chain is marked "1/20 12kt M.S. Co." As you can see in the pictures, this watch is in excellent condition with very little wear. The hinges are tight, and the glass crystal is in excellent condition.
Great seller. This delicate pivot gauge was very well packed and survived its postal trip. Exactly as described and although vintage in age, very nice condition and all jewel holes intact. Expensive, but you get what you pay for, a quality tool.
