albert pocket watch chain with T-bar, dog clip & 1948 coin fob true vintage / antique, pre-owned, used fully functional good to use condition long length, double (close link) curb chain a little over 15" long (inc. Dog Clip to T-Bar) + 3" drop chain & 1948 sixpence coin (King George VI head) the chain is best described as gold tone, soft gold / warm silver in colour, the fittings are more yellow / brass in colour, i assume originally silver plated on brass or brass / mixed metal alloy base, all plating has worn from fittings (not unusual as these are the areas that 'see the most action' & are handled most) so they are gold in colour, the plate on the chain has worn thin (hence the pale gold / silver hue) and through to base in some places - none of this affects the functionality of the fabulous old chain. If you have a much loved / well worn silver plated or pale gold tone base metal pocket watch of similar age chances are they'll be a match made in heaven ;o) if you prefer honest authentic character & charm over mass produced imported modern 'imitation' chains this could be the the chain for you , you'll never see a chap with one identical to yours - this is a piece of history with as many years wear ahead of it as behind impossible to date chain exactly as there are no marks - safe to say 1st half 20th century, probably interwar long length makes this perfect for the 'fuller figure' / taller person weight: 24g please take a look at pictures for more detail, all taken in natural light with penny coin shown to give scale & colour comparison (not included in sale ;o) please note we do not re-plate or polish antique or vintage watch chains, we inspect & ensure all clips & bars are secure & fully functional, we then clean to remove any excess dirt but otherwise maintain original patina - if you prefer an item to look like new you could of course have it re-plated or polished I’m always happy to combine p&p for items & lots paid for in single transaction on one invoice. please ask or wait for combined invoice before making any payment to ensure maximum saving on shipping.
