What a fantastic offer! This is a signed antique handcrafted Artisan Brooch from Austro-Hungaria. The style favors that of the Victorian Renaissance Revival period. This domed shield/buckler shaped brooch was crafted from 800 silver. It has six (6) 4mm round cut Blue Spinel gemstones & central Abalone shell. This ornate brooch is 28mm diameter or 1 1/8 inches length. It is properly trademarked & hallmarked on the crook type "C" clasp. The marks identify manufacture between 1872-1922 in Vienna. The "RB" leads us to believe it was by Rachmil Bernhard between 1872-1876. We are confident that five of the Spinel are original and earth mined. The sixth is somewhat more scintillant and flourescent under UV. This leads us to believe it may be lab created and a replacement. The condition is beautiful original as found Estate.
