Astro Boy Atom Book Limited Edition w/ Original Figure Description [Product Introduction] Published by Kodansha in 2009, Atom Book is a collection book dedicated to Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom), the iconic character created by Osamu Tezuka. Produced in a compact CD-sized format, the book introduces approximately 300 Astro Boy–related items from different periods, including tin toys, soft vinyl figures, menko cards, tableware, and other merchandise, presented with photographs. The book is mainly based on the collection of Astro Boy goods collector Toyo Izawa and provides a visual overview of Astro Boy merchandise and its history in Japan. It also includes an essay titled “Atom no Aishu” by poet Shuntaro Tanikawa and a conversation between neuroscientist Kenichiro Mogi and Toyo Izawa about character culture and the future image of Astro Boy. This is the limited edition version that includes an original Astro Boy figure.
