The YAMAHA SL (Studio Lord) , a Les Paul copy model that was part of the lineup during the 70s and 80s, is now available! This is the SL-500 , a step up from the entry-level SL-400S. Featuring a classic single-cutaway body made of agathis (as a substitute for mahogany) with a maple top, it delivers a thick and solid sound with plenty of character. Enjoy the resonance of this Japan vintage guitar, showcasing the craftsmanship of YAMAHA's artisans from over 40 years ago. According to the catalog, the SL-500 originally comes equipped with covered pickups. While this guitar has uncovered pickups and features the "L-III" pickup on the bridge (normally seen on the SL-500S), the absence of soldering traces suggests this configuration is original. Therefore, we are labeling it as an SL-500. There are visible scratches, dings, tarnish, and rust on the metal parts overall. The truss rod functions well, with plenty of room for adjustment in both forward and backward directions. The neck has been adjusted via the truss rod and remains relatively straight, although minor waves and twists, typical of a vintage instrument, can be observed.
