Superb Old Lithographic Print ' Hove To ' Square-rigger with only one sail. (Etching, 1927) by Arthur Briscoe English Artist & Yachting Illustrator Educated at Shrewsbury & studied at The Slade. (1873-1943) Lithograph of a Classic Victorian Etching / Drypoint / Engraving: superb clarity and detail. Published in 1930 Attractive plates on paper, tipped by one edge to heavy-quality paper/card Influenced by the style of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood of William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais, Rosetti, Brangwyn, James Collinson, Frederic George Stephens and Thomas Woolner, and by Degas; in turn followed by Toulouse-Lautrec. Condition: As per picture (VG/EX) Size: Plate approx. 9 x 6 inches NB: 'Lithograph' in this context makes the distinction between a Lithographic print and the original etching subject.
