The calibration method is as follows: How to Calibrate a Joystick The joysticks on this machine utilize digital Hall Effect technology for proportional control. If a joystick is disconnected or replaced, it must be calibrated before that particular machine function will operate. Note: The joystick must be calibrated before the threshold, max-out or ramping can be set. Note: Perform this procedure with the engine off. 1 Open the platform control box. 2 Pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the on position at both the ground and platform controls. 3 Turn the key switch to platform control. Do not start the engine. 4 Select a joystick to calibrate. 5 Disconnect the wire harness connector from the joystick for approximately 10 seconds or until the alarm sounds. Connect the wire harness connector to the joystick. 6 Move the joystick full stroke in either direction and hold for 5 seconds. 7 Return the joystick to the neutral position, pause for a moment, then move the joystick full stroke in the opposite direction. Hold for 5 seconds. Result: The alarm should sound indicating successful joystick calibration. Result: The alarm does not sound. Check the electrical connections or replace the joystick. 8 Repeat this procedure for each joystick controlled machine function including the thumb rocker steer switch. Note: No machine fuction should operate while performing the joystick calibration procedure.
