Delightful and highly noticeable the tonneau shaped case has interesting small curved stepped lugs mounting the band. Original and signed 'Bulova'. The 10kt gold plated bezel and stainless steel case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. In general the case looks great with only modest wear/scratches present commensurate with the age of the watch. Dial: Complementing the lustre of the case, the dial has been professionally refinished a two-tone gold tone design. The Roman style numerals are shiny yellow gold tone within an outer border of satin gold tone whilst the inner area is a darker shade. The effect is very noticeable indeed. The ‘Bulova’ name and recessed sub-second dial at the six o’clock position are in black. Hands: The hour, minute and sub-second hands are all original, blue/black steel, ‘Modern’ style. Movement: BULOVA Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 8AE calibre with 17 jewels marked with a star symbol for 1941. The movement has been cleaned, oiled &adjusted, and is running well, keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended. Size: Tonneau shaped, approx. 34.01mm long (including lugs) X 21.37mm wide (excluding crown).Approx. 28.18mm excluding the lugs. Band: A new15mm black leather band and gold tone buckle has been fitted which complementsthe watch perfectly. ________________________________________________________________________________ General comments: This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Senator’ watch from 1941 which has been restored to appeal once again. There polished case with shell-like lugs and eye-catching two-tone gold tone dial make the watch highly attractive.
