The Reptile 'optimal heating pack’ has been designed to provide reptile keepers with a cost effective, single box option for heating modern enclosures. This kit contains our handmade 75w PAR30 wide beam Halogen Flood lamp and our much loved, original 50w Deep Heat Projector. There are a number of uses for this kit. Some keepers may choose to use the Halogen lamp during the day for basking, and then the DHP at night when required to provide a lightless but energy efficient and bioavailable heat source. The other use for this pairing is as a hybrid between the two lamps. In this way, the Halogen lamp is bright and attractive to basking, it is quickly warming and IR-A rich. The DHP when placed together with the halogen will further fill the spectrum adding in more IR-B. Of course it can still be used at night if two dimming thermostats are used. From our own now 10 years+ of testing this technology it is the coupling of both Halogen and DHP that shows the very best results in terms of increases in activity, feeding, colouration and reproduction. Reptile Halogen and DHP lamps are suitable for use with good digital dimming thermostats and should be used with wattage appropriate ceramic deep dome lamp holders such as our ClampLamp and ClampLamp-Graphite 5 ½” Important- To get the most life out of your bulb please be sure to shut off power to the fixture BEFORE removing or installing a bulb!
