Like all EBC brake pads in the automotive sector, all EBC Redstuff sports brake pads are provided with a brake coating, broken edges, a heat groove and a powder coating. Despite the relatively hard brake pad material, the Redstuff pad achieves a very high coefficient of friction (0.5) and thus ensures more braking power and faster decelerations in faster and heavier vehicles (>=220 HP) without placing excessive strain on the brake disc. Excellent braking performance is achieved even when the brakes are cold, but this naturally improves increasingly (progressively) as the temperature of the brake pads increases. As with all hard materials, the 'grinding-in procedure' is extended to approx. 1500km.
