I am selling, on behalf of my brother, his vintage carpentry tools that he is no longer able to use because of his health. I was chosen because we don’t have a brother who would actually know something about Stanley tools. This is the original E. C. Stearns No. 13 Flexible Sole Spokeshave that was only manufactured between 1900 and 1930. The flexible sole allows it to work smoothly along inside and outside curve surfaces. Because of how complicated the assembly is I didn’t even try to take it apart to take pictures. However, I did test to make sure that none of the tightening screws or flex surfaces are frozen up. The part that has the company name and patent date on it is made of brass. The main piece had a Japanned finish, but a lot of that has been worn off the handles. It has the original cutter, I believe.
