This endearing and Whimsical figurine is an antique gem from France, and dates between 1850 and 1900. The piece is signed with an S. We were unable to identify the manufacturer. This magnificent piece is a rendition of three siblings. The toddler is riding / seated on what it appears to be a Great Pyrenees dog. The older sister holds the baby as to prevent him from falling. The boy next to the toddler and dog gives the "stay" command to the dog. The scene is set in the outdoors. It is possible the three children and dog are posing for a portrait. The figure was crafted in careful attention to detail. The faces are realistic. The clothes display fine patterns with gold trim. This figurine is a perfect addition to any porcelain collection, collectors of artistic porcelain, doll collectors, and would make a thoughtful gift for a special occasion or loved one. Condition - The figurine is in excellent condition for its age. The piece doesn’t have cracks and chips. Color is almost in perfect condition with minor losses to gold. The piece doesn’t even have fire cracks, something uncommon in pieces of this size and weight. Please see photos for additional information about the item condition. The statue was as described but arrived broken. This was a delicate porcelain figurine with outstretched arms and fingers. It was wrapped in large bubble wrap and tightly surrounded with Styrofoam peanuts. The box was thin walled so any pressure would and did cause damage. Items like this should always be double boxed with softer wrap to allow some give. I would not buy delicate items from this seller. Fortunately, I did get a refund.
