This is a Donegal design Gray with Green undertone, Moss, Black, Teal, Blue, Peach, Cranberry, Gold, Multi Color handmade rug from India. The design of the rug pays homage to Irish tradition of rug making. Inspired by the rugs produced in Donegal in the late 19th and early 20th century, the rug favors a design sensibility that evokes highly decorative individual ‘Irish’ rendition of palmette, leaf and vine pattern rooted in Eastern carpet tradition. As such, this Donegal design responds well to comparisons with William Morris style of Art & Crafts rugs with expansive design elements.
