Here's my artistic interpretation of the 2024 Brood XIX Cicada arrival. These were inspired by the stage of first coming out of their shell! Idk what it is about cicadas besides them being beautiful, calm little creatures that sing their song. When I was a kid I'd hear their chirping sound but it was quite a while until I actually saw one up close and how they left their shell behind always fascinated me. A few years back I just started taking pictures of the ones in my yard and made some drawings and paintings of them. I love them. I decided to immortalize my interpretation of their beauty with various colors. I think the wood keeps them in their natural elements while being a source of positivity in art form on your wall. These Cicada wood pieces are hand/jigsaw cut, and painted with Nova color fine acrylic paints. I then sealed them with epoxy resin to last a lifetime.
