Heuer aveva finito i suoi studi nel 1958 e fu invitato a unirsi alla compagnia. Bisogna ricordare che in quel periodo la loro nicchia di mercato confortevole e poco affollata di costruttori di cronografi, divenne improvvisamente sovracaricata con altri 600 produttori di orologi svizzeri. Dopo alcune analisi della strategia e della produzione, Heuer decise di ritirarsi dal mercato dei solo tempo e concentrarsi ancora una volta sui cronografi.
