4.8L 5.3L NON-DOD/AFM Camshaft - ES5437 Specs: 190/191 .466"/.457” 114 LSA - Single Bolt Fits 2007-2013 4.8L and Non-DOD/AFM 5.3L Commonly Used when Converting DOD/AFM Engines to use standard normal lifters For use in Gen 4 engines only (camshaft sensor on front of engine in timing cover). Will not work on Gen 3 engines with the cam sensor located behind the intake manifold. GM trucks typically started using Gen 4 engines in 2007. This ES5437 camshaft is a high quality alternative to the GM 12625437 and 12689035 camshafts which have skyrocketed in price recently. This camshaft is a stock replacement for Single-Bolt 4.8L and 5.3L engines without AFM/DOD, and is a popular choice to use when eliminating the DOD/AFM system on 2007-2013 5.3L engines. This camshaft will retain the stock drivability and fuel economy, and not require any tuning beyond having the DOD system programmed out of the computer. It can be used with or without VVT (on non-VVT engines the camshaft bolt and sprocket will seal off the VVT oil passage). If your engine came from the factory with DOD/AFM lifters you will also need our Lifter Conversion Kit.
