Description Condition: New Ikko Narahara, one of the most significant postwar photographers in Japan, published his acclaimed photobook Where Time Has Vanished as the culmination of his four-year stay in the United States. This celebrated work has now been reissued in a newly designed edition. After departing for the United States in April 1970 and remaining there until 1974, Narahara compiled the results of his creative exploration into the first edition of Where Time Has Vanished (published by Asahi Shimbun in 1975). In contrast to his photographs of Europe—captured with an almost embracing sensitivity toward its deep historical weight—this series presents large-scale images of the American continent, depicted with a dry, clear-eyed perspective that reflects the vast, untouched horizons he encountered.
