Pour in GASKETGUARD™ Make sure the engine is cold and the coolant in the cooling system is clean. Remove the radiator cap and pour the complete bottle of GASKETGUARD™ directly into the radiator. Screw the cap back on. Tip: In vehicles without a radiator cap, GASKETGUARD™ can be poured in via the expansion tank and then squeeze coolant hoses until mixed. 2. START THE ENGINE If the vehicle is roadworthy: Start the engine and drive at a calm and constant speed for 5 to 10 miles, maintaining between 3,000 - 4,000 RPM for petrol or 1,500 - 2,500 RPM for diesel, then shut off the engine. If the vehicle is not roadworthy: Turn the interior heater and fan to maximum. Start engine, run to operating temperature and then run on high idle (1,000 - 1,500 RPM) for 30 minutes. Turn off the vehicle and allow it to cool down completely. IMPORTANT: Monitor the temperature throughout the application (see engine temp gauge on dash) and if at any point it threatens to overheat, shut it down immediately! 3. Drive Away If necessary, top up with fresh coolant up to the specified mark on the coolant reservoir. Aftercare Simply leave GASKETGUARD™ in the cooling system and continue driving your vehicle as usual. Once fixed, our formula will protect your head gasket! Keep GASKETGUARD™ in the coolant system to protect your head gasket from new future damage . For engines with severely worn head gaskets, it is recommended to add half a bottle of GASKETGUARD™ ‘twice a year’ when you change your seasonal coolant.
