This edition has been transferred from the original analog master tapes by Jeff Carney and newly mixed by Eroc and Jeff Carney. Prepared for vinyl cutting in HD 24/96 resolution. Features a high-gloss laminated heavy board stock gatefold cover and comes housed in an open-ended clear poly sleeve with hype sticker, as shipped by the label. From San Rafael, California. Jeff is an experimental electronic/progressive space rock artist working almost exclusively with analog equipment during the height of the digital era (mid '80s to early '90s). This is his third album. And who is Eroc? Joachim Heinz Ehrig (born 15 November 1951), better known by his stage name Eroc, is a German musician, sound engineer and producer. He served as the drummer and band leader of the German progressive rock group Grobschnitt from 1970 until 1983. He also released five solo albums between 1975 and 1987. Having been a fan of early Grobschnitt and his first two solo albums, his name on an album always piques my interest. And now for the rest of the story….. Following the ambitious all-analog explorations of Imperfect Space Journeys (1988) and Live Electronic Music (1989), Jeff Carney was determined to push further into new sonic territories and to continue to strive for even more originality while not yielding to the prevailing trend towards digital synthesis. And so, in 1990, Jeff Carney recorded some of his most ambitious analog electronic music. Those recordings were once thought to be lost — rumors about their existence made the rounds — but the long lost third solo album never materialized. Now, Skylogue has finally arrived. Produced by Eroc and Jeff Carney and featuring a special guest appearance by Richard Pinhas, Skylogue reaches into cosmic territory that stays true to the masters of ‘70s electronic music while also managing to encompass a completely original and unprecedented musical statement. “In fifty-plus years of doing this, I’ve never covered anybody else’s music, but I may have to record this piece for a Heldon album.
