US 6.5-7 Provenance: Jerusalem region; ex UK barrister collection acquired 2017 Reference: Crusader geometric seal rings with interlaced cross patterns Description: Ancient bronze Crusader signet ring from the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, engraved with an interlaced cross-lattice design. The rectangular bezel shows a network of crossing X- and V-shaped bands forming a continuous cross-like pattern, a style associated with Crusader Christian symbolism and fortress-inspired decoration in the 12th–13th centuries. Rings of this type were worn in the Holy Land by Latin settlers and soldiers as personal identifiers and as expressions of Christian faith, used to seal or stamp documents and goods with a recognisable cross-form motif. The ring shows a stable dark patina with lighter highlights on the raised design and a complete hoop suitable for careful modern wear. Authentication: Genuine Crusader-period bronze ring with patina and engraving style consistent with 12th–13th century finds from the Jerusalem region.
