Natural stone, even when polished, is still somewhat porous and does remain susceptible to etching by acidic compounds like fruit juice, vinegar, some cleaning solvents, etc. For customers that wish to further protect their investment the marble can be sealed. As advertised.....shipping was a bit of a "mystery" - FedEx strikes again.... Tracking info showed FedEx hadn't received the item yet and after three days, I contacted the seller with a prompt reply that it was on its way and they had opened a claim. The last day before I could consider it lost in transit and request a refund, it showed up - unfortunately, damaged.....I documented the damage and the seller quickly issued a refund. Excellent business practices, excellent communication, thank you.
