In Japanese folk beliefs, a monster is a bizarre or abnormal phenomenon that is beyond human understanding, or a being with mysterious powers that cause such phenomena and cannot be explained by science. It is used as a comprehensive term to refer to anything that is not necessarily malicious but is creepy, from scary ghosts to giant skeletons and bizarre lanterns. In this collection, each color is inspired by a different monster, and each monster is hidden under the mesh of the shoe tongue. The dark gray (D1GA2464) features a rib cage symbol reminiscent of a Gashadokuro (giant skeleton). The light beige (D1GA2473) depicts a lantern with a single eye and a long tongue, a lantern ghost (hunted lantern). The off-white (D1GA2474) is inspired by ghosts (spooky ghosts) and expresses a ghost with hollow eyes in the night fog. The mesh on the tongue can also be torn off and used, adding a playful touch depending on the usage. The WAVE RIDER 10 provides functionality such as dynamic cushioning, stability, and energy return.
