In this book, researcher Matthew Gibson reviews the role of shame and pride in social work, providing invaluable new insights from the first study undertaken into the role of these emotions within professional practice. The author demonstrates how these emotions, which are embedded within the very structures of society but experienced as individual phenomena, are used as mechanism of control in relation to both professionals themselves and service users. Examining the implications of these emotional experiences in the context of professional practice and the relationship between the individual, the family and the state, the book calls for a more humane form of practice, rooted in more informed policies that take in to consideration the realities and frailties of the human experience. 1. I've ordered from Rarewaves here in the US and the UK multiple times, and continue to do so. They always seem to have something I can't find anywhere else at all or for a reasonable price. When I purchase used items, they are as described, if not a grade better. Aways a quick turnaround after ordering, every item arrives promptly, professionally packaged. Many orders have free shipping, even for solitary item orders. I never needed a reason to communicate, as I've had no cause. Recommended.

  2. Received item as described and packaged well. Listing indicated shipping was free. Ordered on the 7th but by the 14th noticed it hadn’t been shipped yet. Seller responded quickly saying that during the purchase process that it said it would not be shipped until the 22nd because they use a fulfillment house. I don’t recall seeing anything about delayed shipping during the process or in the listing. While I appreciate the prompt response to my inquiry, other buyers should be aware of delays.

  3. The book was brand still plastic wrapped. Looks exactly like the picture for a reasonable price including shipping. In perfect condition. Shipping was slow and I was worried that I was scammed again. Seller did respond to my message after a day and explained the item would be shipped within a week. The item shipping and tracking was updated by the date they stated. Took about 2 weeks to receive item. I’m usually impressed when item is shipped and received within a week.
