Mexican Sterling Cufflinks Maya Aztec Profile Inlaid Turquoise

These handsome Mexican cufflinks show a man in profile with strong Maya or Aztec features. Around the face are small, thin pieces of turquoise carefully set in a black substrate. The mark on the back of one is "MexicoTA-28 925". In the 1980's, this type of mark with 2 letters and a number was used for Mexico's silversmiths. The first letter was first letter of the town in which the piece was made - in this case Taxco, and the second letter was the first letter of the artisan's last name. Unfortunately the actual maker is very difficult to trace. "925" means sterling silver, but though I've not tested the cufflinks, I think that only the 1 inch across by 1/2 inch high fronts are silver - the findings do not appear to be. They cufflinks are exceptionally well designed and in good condition.

Shipped in a timely manner , fair shipping costs , item as described along with clear pictures of the item . Excellent price. I highly recommend this seller , for this package was traveling for weeks back and forth to usps distributors and four other unnecessary towns . ( no fault whatsoever to the seller) if it wasn’t for excellent packaging I’m not sure if this package would have arrived in the same condition.
