1895 Antique Print Stray printer's plate ink specks; Some light age & handling wear This very ornate image is 125+ years old. This is from "The American Dictionary and Cyclopedia" (1895). This is an original print not a reproduction. This nice image measures approximately 6" x 8" on stock paper measuring approximate 8" x 10". The picture does not capture all of the detail in the print and may exaggerate the antique paper coloring. Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (1496–1497) was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, and poet during the High Renaissance. His work was inspired by classical antiquity and had a lasting impact on Western art. Michelangelo is known for his Sistine Chapel ceiling paintings, which depict Old Testament scenes and draw millions of visitors to Rome each year. He also created the marble sculpture Bacchus, which depicts the Roman god of wine in a drunken pose. Note: Some of the shading in the image (the corners) is a result of the photo. I have over 200 famous people, scientists, politicians, writers, artists, presidents, kings, queens, religious leaders, philosophers, actors, etc., in this same style of print. What a great piece of history. Condition : It is in very good condition but may have naturally occurring printing faults in the image area (e.g., printer's ink specks...all visible (if any) in picture. Very minor age toning is to be expected.
