Click images to enlarge Description ?This is an ORIGINAL and RARE German-made shoulder sleeve insignia for the US Army's Constabulary which patrolled/policed the American Sector of Germany during the Occupation of Germany 1945-1952. The "Circle C Cowboys", as other units derisively referred to them, were primarily drawn from the 4th Armored Division and the 6th Cavalry Regiment. The Constabulary wore a distinctive uniform with painted helmet liners and patrolled in M6 and M8 Armored Cars when on the German highways and autobanen. This shoulder sleeve insignia was woven in Germany in the "BEVo" manner in which the German armed services insignia was also woven during WWII. Following the weaving a brown twill backing was sewn to the weaving to provide strength and durability. Here's an opportunity for the insignia or Constabulary collector to obtain a pristine example of this variant.
