This piece is one of the most rare pieces that Westmoreland made in purple slag (or purple marble as Westmoreland called it) and is very hard to find. The catalog for 1973 shows the purple slag cat top on a milk glass base so technically, this piece is a non-catalog item. Apparently, very few purple slag bottoms were made. It took us years before we found this one for our collection. Westmoreland Glass made this Purple Slag Cat on Rectangular Base Covered Dish . This piece has glass eyes and was made in 1973 and is mould number CT-1. It measures about 8" long and both the top and bottom are marked with the factory WG logo. No damage found. Combined shipping is not possible on this piece. Inv. #1499

Both pieces wrapped separately in bubble wrap, then placed in separate boxes, then a layer of bubble wrap abound those boxes, inside of another box! IMPRESSIVE! Needless to say, my glass item arrived in pristine condition! Exactly as described/shown but even more beautiful in person. This piece is stunning! Very happy to add this to my collection and to add this seller to my list of favorites.❤️

  2. Can’t say enough good things about this seller! Items were exactly as described and even more stunning in person. Items shipped very quickly after purchase was made. My husband and I had both made purchases from the same shop within minutes of each other without knowing 😆 The seller noticed our address was the same, so they combined our shipping together and sent both items in the same box which I was very pleased with!!   3. While this dog is really “Aruba” slag and not “Fantasia,” the misnomer is easily forgiven. It’s an outstanding piece of Aruba slag, with tons of “iron,” and the blue glass glows brilliantly under 365 nm UV light. Better than shown in the pictures! He was packed extremely well for protection in shipping, and arrived without a scratch. Shipping was FAST and at a very reasonable cost. Uber friendly seller, great communication. Price was good; I wouldn’t hesitate to shop here again!
