Details like this separate the BEST from the Rest ! Ford Intake Manifold Baffle Another rare, obsolete Lunch Pail part ! Original equipment for any Ford or Mercury with 'FE' engine and 6V ('3 deuce') intake, plus many 'FE' engines with aluminum 4V intake. Oddly, this part has more than one official name. During the early '60s it was a 'Crankcase Baffle'. This later changed to 'Engine Oil Baffle'. Where does it install and why? Turn over your aluminum intake, you'll see 4 to 6 screw holes. This baffle helps keep hot oil off the intake. PLEASE NOTE: Ford made several baffles that look quite similar, but they are not interchangeable! The one shown here fits the following intake manifolds... 1962-Up FE 6V Intake (3 x 2v; '6 barrel') 1962-64 390 4v Alum. Intake 1962-64 406 4v Alum. Intake 1963-64 427 4v Alum. Intake In other words, this baffle won't fit the (rare) 1960 352 HP intake, any 427 8V (2 x 4V carbs) intake, nor any of the late-model 427 4V intakes. As shown, it's in great shape.
