This cel was used in the production of the 1989 OVA Riding Bean. Scene Description: This is a cel of Rally from the scene where she checks on Bean right after their office was attacked. In the actual animation, some parts, such as her hand, are obscured, but they are fully depicted in this cel. Currently, it is stored in a well-ventilated environment with silicone-coated protective paper to prevent ink adhesion. Riding Bean. 1989The first anime project supervised and produced by the original author, Kenichi Sonoda. Only one episode of the show was produced, and the number of celluloid images is extremely small, making it a rare piece of art. Unfortunately, this cel-shot is not of Bean or Larry, the main characters, but of Carrie, the robber. This is a celluloid of the scene at the beginning of the story where she gets into Bean's car and unmasks herself in order to flee after the robbery. It is carefully drawn from the shoulders down, so that we can see the extent of the scene, which we could not see in the film. The show became immensely popular, and a crowdfunding campaign in 2017 was so successful that it exceeded its goal and a limited edition Blu-ray called the "High-Occupancy Edition" was released. It continues to have a strong fan base to this day. It measures 265mm x 230mm and approximately 10.4 in. x 9 in. The preservation condition is excellent with no paint chipping. There are minor scratches and stapler marks from being used in the animation studio. *Caution! The Japanese government is currently considering a policy proposal to designate animation cels as cultural assets. In the near future, cels in Japan may no longer be exported or sold overseas. Got the item as requested, my only issue is the shipper wasn't really good with handling a business address, but it got to be only a couple days later, and was well packed and aside from a little delay and confusion, I'm happy with the results.
