SAMURAI JEANS Shinsengumi Goryokaku model S140SXJ-GRK blue Spring Summer 2021 Description Samurai Jeans has released a special limited edition Shinsengumi Goryokaku model, the "S140SXJ-GRK." This is a model series themed around "the rough men who lived at the end of the Edo period," which was also introduced in our Spring/Summer 2021 project. This time , the motif is the Battle of Goryokaku, which is said to have been an important battle at the end of the Edo period, and the mixed design of the "Yamato" model common to the series is used in a war model specification. The design features a pure gold-plated sunrise button symbolizing the beginning of a new era, a thread symbolizing the impermanence of all things, the cherry blossoms of Goryokaku, which is still known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and a drum button representing the demon vice-commander of the Shinsengumi who rests at the foot of Goryokaku. The denim used is the 18oz special slub denim common to the series, and with its heavy weight and characteristic rough, uneven texture it has a more impressive look than regular denim, and the more you wash it the more character it develops. The selvedge comes in three colors: white and light blue, which are said to have been used on the Shinsengumi's haori coats, plus red, which represents loyalty.
