Offered is the vintage 1978 popular hardcover book Chesapeake A Novel by James A. Michener. Book is SIGNED by Michener on the title page. Book is a first edition first printing. (Random House first printings of this book started the number line with a “2”). Book is in acceptable to good condition. Spine is tight and square. No page creases or tears. No writing in book. Page edges have age discoloration spots. Book apparently had the dust jacket taped to the inside of the boards. That taped dust jacket was obviously removed as there is a straight line surface tear along the inside of each board (see photos). The dust jacket is now covered with a Brodart removable dust jacket cover. This Brodart cover hides the inside board surface tears. There is also a short piece of tape at the top and bottom of the front and back of the dust jacket. The dust jacket has wear with a few edge tears. Cover boards have no corner bumps. MSRP $12.95 on inside front flap. This popular signed vintage book displays nicely on a book shelf and it is a wonderful historical fiction book. Look closely at photos (sorry for glares) to see the condition of this popular signed book. Always a full refund if not completely satisfied provided book is returned just as received. I received the book and was disappointed at how crooked the cover and spine was and messaged the seller right away about a refund/return. After taking a better look at the ad I realized that I completely missed the fact that the defects were clearly mentioned and shown in the details. I apologized for my assumption and shortcoming but nonetheless, the sell still issued me a refund immediately and told me to keep the book. Quick response, good packaging, priced fair for quality.
