StreetRays Rear Steel Frame Notching Notch Kit Weld-on 1978-1988 GM Chevy Buick Olds G-Body All StreetRays [originals] parts are fabricated right here in Austin, Central Texas! where precision & quality finish is our main focus. Precision Laser cut to fit all G Body frames. Our G-body frame notch kit allows for narrowing the rear upper frame rails on the G-body for installation of a wider tire. Laser cut from 1/8" (.120") USA Pickled and oiled steel (HRPO). Our frame notch kit comes with both right and left frame sections and ends to bridge the gap from the notch and our notch kit is thicker and stronger than the factory frame. Installation will require metal fab experience and can be done in the garage with a decent welder and will definitely need a good welder, hammer, die grinder and a bench vice. Due to the Lack of consistency with the G Body frame over the years some minor trimming and will be necessary. Fits: 1978-1987 Buick Regal 1978-1987 Chevrolet El Camino 1978-1983 Chevrolet Malibu 1978-1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1978-1987 GMC Caballero 1981-1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass 1982-1986 Pontiac Bonneville 1978-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix Installation Tips: (1) Raise car to a comfortable working height using the method of your choice. Follow applicable safety procedures, such as placing jackstands, locking your lifts, etc. (2) Locate the existing rear frame that will be cut, sliced and re-boxed (3) We suggest marking the length of your cut based on the wheel you are trying to accommodate. Mark a long enough frame section to allow your wheel proper clearance. (4) The depth of the notch is also dependent on the desired wheel clearance. As a good starting point, slicing the frame flush with the inner fender. (5) IMPORTANT: It is always best to cut less to begin with and grind to exact fit rather than trying to cut to exact dimensions. (6) Use a vise and a hammer to bend the four smaller frame plates until they match the shape of the notch ends. Tack weld small plates into place. (7) In preparation for welding, trim the large plates so they slightly overlap the small end plates. (8) Before welding the large main plates, clamp them into place and check for good seams to place weld bead. The plate is slightly oversized to allow proper fit to all 78-88 G-body frames. Grind large plate for perfect fit. (9) Properly clean the existing frame of dirt and rust to expose bare metal for the welding process. Weld small end plates in place first, and then weld the larger plates.

  1. Good buy on a Holley Brawler Carburetor. Shipping was fast & free! The carb was well packed and looked great. I won't be installing it until next Spring, so hopefully it works as good as it looks. Not that it would have helped in my case, but the "No Return" policy was a bit of a negative. I would have rated the seller higher on communication, but I had earlier asked a question about fitment, and received no reply. Had to contact Holley technical to get my answer. Still happy overall.

  2. shipping was a little slow leaving seller but Well packaged, which is also appreciated since the post office and other carriers seem to destroy every package nowadays. It doesn't matter if it's USPS, UPS or Fed X, In Florida they destroy every package they handle. Almost every package i receive is either torn open, crushed, mutilated or destroyed. This product/package arrived intact, safe and undamaged because this seller packaged it well. Got a good deal and would recommend this seller.
