Description
Set includes: 1. One large Dinner plate 9 inches wide 2. Five Dessert or Salad plates, 8.25 inches wide 3. Four bread plates, 7 inches wide. Set made by David Chapman & Sons of Longton England, this mark was used from 1882 thru 1904. Do not know the pattern name. These dishes are approximately 130 years old. Set is in good antique condition, the gilding is worn, the backs are hand numbered with the pattern number, there is also impressed writing (stamped into the clay) Looks like "RG" something. There are factory inclusions in the glaze, Don't think this was an expensive set when it was made, I can see this being used everyday in a modest Victorian home. (f I were keeping this set for myself, I would use it as a dessert set, using the largest plate to hold the cake). Ships via UPS ground, carefully boxed. This weighs close to 7 lbs.
