Description
A highly collectible style of Chinese export high-quality porcelain. Date to a transition period between the Late Qing Dynasty (c. 1875–1911) and the early Republic period (1912–1930s), reflecting the high-quality craftsmanship intended for Western markets. Features a circular centerpiece depicting a peony (symbolizing wealth and honor) & a bird. Surrounded by 4 alternating panels depicting flowers. Decorated with vibrant, low-fired overglaze enamels in the "Famille Rose" style, dominated by shades of pink and carmine, alongside green, yellow, and blue. The panels are outlined with borders of green tendrils and a gilt (gold) ground. The rim features a gold band. A standard size for salad or dessert service. The "Fu" (福) mark on the base signifies "Good Fortune" or "Blessing". The presence of a mark is for export wares from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Late Qing (1875–1911) feature highly detailed painting and gold highlights. Excellent condition.
The item was shipped in a timely manner. The item was packaged safely and received without damage. My only complaint is that the description implied the clock mechanism works, but I’ve not been able to get it to work. I have a matching clock mechanism, so thankfully everything weirdly works out. I did not reach out to the seller about this, because there is nothing that needs to be resolved, I’m happy with the price I paid, even if the mechanism doesn’t work. The item description was innacurate
