~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ A wonderful find. This textile is a 19th century , French bed hanging of the most gorgeous , green silk brocatelle . The lovely golden beige ground is a silk with gentle twill weave. This textile dates c 1860-1880. The cotton trim runs along the bottom and this textile is backed in a natural toned cotton sateen. At the pleated top are the original rings for hanging . The silk on the front of this panel is pieced ( please see photographs). There is a heavy cotton batting between the two layers . Please view my other textiles for further matching pieces from this bed set ~*~ A wonderful and VERY rare find ~*~ ~*~ ( PR 11) MEASUREMENTS : This wonderful textile measures : 20 inches wide at the top , where it is pleated. The length is 97 inches long and the width is 25 inches at the bottom ~ CONDITION: This piece is in original as found, unwashed condition. This piece has light storage dust and storage dirt in places. There is fading along the trimmed side ~ The backing has storage marks ~This textile is in good condition for it's age however shows the wonderful signs of time and use often inherent in these antique textiles ~*~ ~ . ~ Please see my other Antique French fabric auctions by clicking View Sellers Other Items~*~
