Description

Item pictured is the one you will receive. For sale is this excellent condition M-7 Colt 62316 Bayonet/Fighting Knife with sheath from the Vietnam War era (1961-75). This is a genuine example of a Colt 62316 likely subcontracted by Imperial in the early 1960's. This particular specimen is in excellent condition and so is the scabbard. This is the correct textured scabbard to be issued with a Colt, which is injection molded Nylon. Some faint oxidation is apparent on the scabbard, no pitting apparent. Some light scabbard wear. Some oxidation on brass scabbard buttons. Metal has a slight reddish hue from oxidation depending on the angle you look at it. No pitting evident. I would genuinely call this an attractive patina, especially stunning in the sunlight. The blade is sharp with an in-tact pointed tip, in-tact blade profile. The handles are in very good condition. Tang also stamped with the letter "K.". If you have information on these tang stampings on a Colt please send me a note. I've seen various letters and would love to find some more info. I've handled a few of the 62316 marked colts and while there are two acknowledged subcontractors, Imperial and Milpar, its possible there were others. And from those subcontractors there are many known subtle variations. Thanks for looking at this one. Free, discreet, and secure shipping.
