The two pieces are permanently press-fit together and won't loosen over time. The socket is made is made from 6140 chromium-vanadium steel that's heat-treated to 40–47 HRC for use on impact wrenches. The socket is also coated with a manganese phosphate finish to resist corrosion. The bits are made from S2 steel that's heat-treated to a higher hardness (58–62 HRC) to help maintain their geometry under stress. The inside of the socket's drive end has smooth walls with no detent grooves to support engagement with drive tools that use friction ring anvils. A detent pin hole on one side of the drive end also supports engagement with detent pin anvil styles.

Unfortunately, it is the wrong size and doesn't fit the Kindle I have. I then requested to return the item for a refund since I had to order a cover from Amazon that is the correct size.
