He graduated from Barton County Community College, studying athletic training and theater, before attending The University of Kansas, where he studied business. While still in college he started his five-year tax preparation career, then moved into the regulatory side of the banking industry, performing audits on community banks. This was during the financial meltdown, giving him great insight into the inner workings of what led to that. In 2010, he joined Advisors Excel, one of the largest financial marketing organizations in the country, and consulted for financial advisors who specialize in retirement planning for baby boomers and retirees. He quickly obtained his insurance licenses and became registered as an Investment Adviser Representative and began splitting time between consulting financial advisors, and running his own financial services practice. Nate took full advantage of his exposure to some of the brightest financial minds in the U.S., learning the different financial disciplines of these elite advisors, and, picking out the best pieces, developed his own retirement planning process and low-volatility investing discipline.
